They are unreliable. You can take any older bmw and compare it to the modern version. Plastic cooling pumps, weaker engine construction. The fact that they can be made more robust but they won't do it which leads to more breakage makes them unreliable.

This car cheers me up on a bad day by taking it on backroads and flooring it. No other possession can do that. Hell, women don't even do that. I've said this many times on Ytubers: The car care Nut" and Ranting Scott Kilmers videos that you can't drive A Mercedes and lives from one or Even 3 pay cheque to cheque like most North Americans who wants to drive Mercedes New or Used does. Also you always have to have at least 7,000 ( Seven thousand Dollars Saved in case), which Most North Americans can't Save. Secondly North America has the worst Mercedes &Bimmer Mechanics even those at the dealership still don't know how to solve simple problems on these cars compared to the Mechanics in Europe or even roadside Mechanics in Africa or Middle East. Third Mercedes are performance car, built like a puzzle ( not like bolts and nuts Acura or Lexus) so if one parts breaks fix it else it will affect the whole puzzle. Mercedes and Bimmer very aggressive, agile strong and drivers of those cars push it hard unlike Japanese cars like Toyota/Lexusb which very boring, not aggressive, lack performance and handling because the engines not Strong to push it so the owners drives them slowly and it doesn't face any Hardship. German cars- Mercedes and Bimmer are like rubbing your palm together at a very fast speed it gets hot quickly and will burn and Japanese cars are like rubbing it slowly so that you can keep doing it for a very long time
